How to change your registered agent in Maine
- Choose the new agent. Name yourself if you meet the rule in the facts table, or hire a service from the price table below; they give you their Maine street address to put on the form.
- File online. Portal URL updated 2026-09-11: the informe.org address in the 2022 press release now redirects to this maine.gov Annual Report Online service (read live 2026-09-11, 'Welcome to Annual Report Filing Online'). Cached 2022 SOS press release (corporate-annual-reports-2022-now-available) states online services 'include the ability for noncommercial clerks or noncommercial registered agents to change their addresses. ... What the statute says
A represented entity may change the information currently on file under section 105, subsection 1 by filing with the Secretary of State a statement of change signed on behalf of the entity that states the name of the entity and the information to be in effect.

A registered agent is the person or company the state and the courts send legal papers to. The agent must have a street address in Maine, not a PO box, and be available during business hours.
Annual report and what happens without an agent
