Louisiana requires every LLC and corporation to keep a registered agent with a Louisiana street address. You can be your own agent (An individual agent must be a citizen of the state who resides in Louisiana (R.S...., full wording under the statute below). Changing your agent costs $25 for an LLC and $25 for a corporation. The Annual Report is due on or before the anniversary date of organization, each year. If you have no agent: If the registered agent resigns, or for any other reason the LLC ceases to maintain a registered agent, a successor agent must be appointed and filed within thirty days. If no statement of change is filed within thirty days after the registered office has been vacated, the office of the secretary of state may be treated as the registered office by anyone other than the LLC itself. A company that receives a Notice of Intent to Revoke must submit a completed annual report within 30 days of the notice (60 days for a foreign corporation or LLC) or its charter is revoked; reinstatement then costs $75 plus $30 per delinquent annual report.. How to change your registered agent in Louisiana

What the statute says

Each limited liability company shall continuously maintain: (1) A registered office in this state. (2) At least one registered agent who shall be one of the following: (a) A citizen of the state who resides in this state. (b) A partnership or professional law corporation, which is authorized to practice law in this state, or a domestic corporation, domestic limited liability company, foreign corporation, or foreign limited liability company authorized to transact business in this state, which is authorized by its articles or certificate of incorporation or organization to act as the agent of a limited liability company for service of process and which has on file with the secretary of state a certificate setting forth the name of at least two individuals at its address in this state, each of whom is authorized to receive any process served upon it as such agent.

A registered agent is the person or company the state and the courts send legal papers to. The agent must have a street address in Louisiana, not a PO box, and be available during business hours. Annual report and what happens without an agent

The Annual Report is due on or before the anniversary date of organization, each year. Fee: $30 for an LLC, $30 for a corporation. Late fee: not published.

Without an agent on file: If the registered agent resigns, or for any other reason the LLC ceases to maintain a registered agent, a successor agent must be appointed and filed within thirty days.
